A festival in a small town is a much anticipated event each year. People gather to socialize with friends and enjoy an old fashioned good time. The community comes together and feels a sense of pride. Each year in Forest County “festival” week is a homecoming for many and the camps around the area are packed with people all wanting to experience a special slice of Americana you just can’t find in the city. Tionesta celebrates their rich heritage with the 51st annual Tionesta Indian Festival from August 16-21. Enjoy performances by the Allegheny River Indian Dancers, Spirit Wings and even Elvis. The event has three parades…Kiddie Parade, Indian Costume Parade, and the Grand Parade with the Zem Zem Shriners on Saturday August 20th. The evening ends with a spectacular fireworks display at dusk.
