Thunder Mountain Speedway near Knoxdale in Jefferson County had been idle for several years and fallen into disrepair. In the winter of 2014 new promoters Bo Lockwood and Lori Azzato began planning to bring the track back to life.  After countless hours of hard work, in May, the much anticipated opening night had arrived and the roar of racing returned to Thunder Mountain. Since that first night the support from fans, drivers, and pit crews have been very impressive.  On one night in July an incredible 37 late model teams packed the pits.  To show their appreciation for the strong support of the track, Bo & Lori increased the purse for the late model division to $1,000 to win for the rest of the 2015 season and added prize money to both open stocks and pure stocks payoffs as well.  On Sunday August 30th, the track will host the 11th Annual Stephanie Eckl Memorial paying at least $3,000 to win and $300 to start for the United Late Model Series (ULMS).  Thunder Mountain Speedway races Friday nights at 7:30PM with a 4 division program featuring late models, sprints, open stocks, and pure stocks.  The track is located at 3406 Ramsey Town Road Brookville, PA 15825.
