For a howlin’ good time come to the Great Outdoors region for some of the best local live music around. Guaranteed to be spooktastic. Here’s the ghoulishly great October lineup.

On October 1st you are in for a treat at Clarion River Brewing Company for Clarion’s Autumn Leaf Festival. A triple-header! First, Spencer Allan Patrick’s original songs have influences of country, bluegrass and alternative rock. He does them beautifully from 2-4 p.m., then Gary Bickerstaff brings you all your acoustic top favorite hits from 4-6 p.m. and last but certainly not least if blues, jazz, country and Texas swing is your thing then Ricci Hardt is a must see from 7-9 p.m.

Do you love indie and folk rock? How about classics and Irish music? Well that’s just what you’ll hear when you come to Deer Creek Winery to hear Sean Carey & the Transit Band on October 1st from 2-5 p.m.

Foxburg Wine Cellars is offering music on a week by week basis weather permitting as it has an outdoor stage area. On October 1st Richard Eustice who is ½ of the duo Acoustic Highway will be playing acoustic rock n roll favorites from 2-5 p.m. On October 2nd from 2-5 p.m. free spirited playing paired with a raw, soulful voice and elevated through the use of percussive and vocal looping, Scott & Rosanna have pure electric energy together. Together, they create honest music that is warm and enveloping. See the magic live.

No one makes Lincoln Hall’s McKissick Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre organ sound more glorious than David Wickerham. He will be playing it and taking requests on October 1st at 2 p.m.

Rick Sabousky (of Rick & Jen and Route 8 Band) dish up all of your top 40 favorites on October 1st from 2-5 p.m. followed by the new band Arcade from 7-10 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.

CATRO, the Pittsburgh Jazz band, will be playing in the rear garden during the Artists Closing reception at the Red Brick Gallery on October 1st at 4 p.m.

Come out and listen to Nick Forsyth covering some Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty and much, much more on October 1st and 15th from 3-6 p.m. at Benezette Wines, October 22nd from 7-10 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery, at Laurel Mountain Vineyard’s Cider Pressing Demonstration and Tasting on October 9th from 12-3 p.m. and on October 29th at the Driftwood Saloon & Grill for their Halloween Party.

Burning Daylight, an acoustic duo, will play your 90’s and present day country music favorites at Deer Creek Winery on October 1st from 6-9 p.m. and at R** Bandana Winery on October 7th and 15th from 7-10 p.m.

Spanning four decades, The Ozone Rangers are a classic rock, country, and ZZ Top tribute band. Relying on a groove of bluesy bass and drum rhythms sprinkled with some tasty Southern licks, the Ozone recipe has stood the test of time like a bottle of Jack Daniels on a woodshed shelf. You don’t want to miss them at Ray’s Hot Spot on October 1st starting at 9:30 p.m.

Daniel Stockwell has a unique mix of folk, rock and indie music. He plays cover songs and has some really good original tunes as well. He’ll be at Deer Creek Winery on October 2nd from 2-5 p.m.

No matter what era you’re from, the rockin’ duo Wheels & Heels (Dick and Joanie from the band Trixx) will probably know one of your favorite songs. They are at Deer Creek Winery on October 7th from 6-9 p.m. and at Iron Mountain Grille on October 21st.

Paul Shimmel taps into the veins of rock, folk, and country and foremost pours out his heart and soul in his original songs. He will captivate and engage you taking you on a magical journey with every song. Catch his show at the Medix Hotel on October 2nd.

On October 7th Romey & Friends will play all of your classic country favorites that you want to cut a rug to at The Foundry starting at 7 p.m.

Robyn Young performs acoustic country, pop, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s rock and country. She is also a songwriter so you will hear some of her original work as well. She’s playing on October 7th at the Iron Mountain Grille, on October 8th from 4-8 p.m. at Benezette Wines, and at Deer Creek Winery  on October 30th from 2-5 p.m.

The KGB is an all-original rock band. With 30+ originals in rotation, the songs range from hard rockers to melodic tunes with a healthy dose of classic two guitar rock and roll filling out the night. KGB will bang your head and shake your behind. See them live on October 7th & 8th at Ray’s Hot Spot starting at 9:30 p.m.

Van Wagner writes songs about our region’s history.  His songs have been performed all over the world and have been featured in several film productions. He will be singing them in his “Tall Timber” presentation at Sinnemahoning State Park’s 1st Fork Festival on October 8th at 2 p.m.

Visit R** Bandana Winery and hear Basement Band on October 8th from 2-5 p.m.

Uncharted Course will play some sweet, slow old time classic rock favorites for you at Deer Creek Winery on October 8th from 2-5 p.m.

Bryan Phillips will be playing all your favorite country hits at Deer Creek Winery on October 8th from 6-9 p.m., October 9th from 2-5 p.m. and October 28th from 6-9 p.m.

Rumble Seat Winos play electrifying rock with a unique show of great music and comedic interaction on October 8th and 28th from 7-10 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.

JB Unplugged is a singer/songwriter performing for over 25 years, playing the music you love from today’s new pop and country, to old classics with a catalog of over 500 songs and all genres of music. He’s playing at Iron Mountain Grille on October 8th.

Samantha Sears will be playing her special blend of eclectic acoustic rock at Deer Creek Winery on October 14th from 6-9 p.m. and at Iron Mountain Grille on October 22nd.

If you need Jazz, standards and swing tunes in your life then Jazz Lite is the band that you need to see on October 14th at the Iron Mountain Grille.

Chaz plays all of your classic and dance rock favorites. They have been playing together for a long time and have always been very good. They are at Ray’s Hot Spot on October 14th starting at 9:30 p.m.  

The Jukehouse Bombers will be layin’ down the blues while contestants dish up their chili and Create Café’s servin’ up the brews on October 15th.  

Deer Creek Winery’s Fall Fest-Tour de Winery will give you some musical variety with some country, rock classics and original music on October 15th with the Jeff & Dawn Savage Duo from 1-4 p.m., followed by the Truth Seekers playing classic acoustic/folk rock, unique cover songs and originals from 5-8 p.m. and then on October 16th Harmony Road will be playing some country, pop and 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s tunes from 1-4 p.m.

Bad Hat Daddy O’s are a classic rock duo playing all of your favorites from the Eagles to Rod Stewart to Tom Petty and more at Iron Mountain Grille on October 15th.

Sofa King Cool Band plays classic rock so well you can almost feel your hair growing! Awesome and absolutely amazing. Classic rock, blues rock, southern rock, dance rock, if it’s rock then they play it, and they’re playing it at Ray’s Hot Spot on October 15th at 9:30 p.m.

Mike Burkhardt will be playing the Knabe Grand Piano and the Hammond X66 at DeBence Antique Music World on October 16th at 1:30 p.m.

Root 2 Fifth is an acoustic music duo that plays classic, timeless country and rock tunes. They will be at the Medix Hotel on October 16th.

The Sawyer Stepp Trio is a quality, easy listening, full sounding trio band that performs a nice variety of songs from the 70’s, 60’s, 50’s, 40’s, 30’s and even back to the roaring 20’s! They will play at  Deer Creek Winery on October 21st from 7-9 p.m.

Playing all of your country acoustic favorites Til’ Morning will be at R** Bandana Winery on October 21st from 7-10 p.m.

The Necessary Experience is a fun, funky rock and roll band playing top hits from The Beatles, Steve Miller, Marvin Gaye, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd and Motown. In essence they’re Funky People Playin’ Funky Tunes!!! They will play at Ray’s Hot Spot on October 21st starting at 9:30 p.m.

On October 22nd Gary Bickerstaff brings you all your acoustic top favorite hits from 2-5 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery.

Route 8 Band gives you a new spin on some classic rock favorites on October 22nd from 7-10 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.

Soundbite covers material that doesn’t always necessarily get played by the majority of bands out there. Check them out at Ray’s Hot Spot on October 22nd starting at 9:30 p.m. and hear some of the classic rock tunes that you haven’t heard in a long time.

Johnny & The Country J will be playing classic country hits on October 23rd from 2-5 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery.

An evening of world class keyboard artistry and one of film history’s iconic silent films. Tom Roberts on Piano and Dale Abraham on the Wurlitzer Theatre Organ provide the musical backdrop to the 1927 classic silent film, “It”, starring Clara Bow in Lincoln Hall on October 28th at 7 p.m.

Ray’s Hot Spot is having their Halloween bash & party weekend on October 28th & 29th with Route 8 Band giving you a new spin on some classic rock favorites on October 28th and on October 29th Two For Flinching combines some of the most talented musicians in the area with an entertaining stage performance and a spectacular sound and lighting show. The quartet switches effortlessly between smooth funk, hard rock and groovin’ dance rhythms, while providing sweet vocal harmonies, dazzling technical musicianship and a dose of humor. You don’t want to miss them. Don’t forget to wear your costume both nights. Halloween costume judging at midnight the 29th!

If you’re looking for some hard, funked up rock you have to see Nick Sea at R** Bandana Winery on October 29th from 7-10 p.m.

Trixx band plays all of your favorite classic rock hits from the 70’s and 80’s including Journey, Styx, Bryan Adams and so much more. These guys have been together for a long time and it shows. They are playing Iron Mountain Grille‘s Halloween Party on October 29th so wear your costume for a chance at a prize.

The region also has some terrific monthly meet ups to showcase your talent as well.

The Forest County Country Music Association has a bluegrass and country music jam session to set your toes a tappin’ and your fingers snappin’. You are even welcome to join in if you like. It happens the 2nd Friday each month at the MACA building on Pine Street in Marienville and the 3rd Friday each month at the Forest Folk School in Tionesta.

If you love American Folk Music; singing, playing guitar, banjo, ukulele, dulcimer or mandolin meet at CREATE Café on the first Thursday of each month where you’ll play the music of Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Peter Paul & Mary, The Kingston Trio and many, many more of your favorite classic folk tunes from the 1930’s through the 1970’s. On the third Thursday of each month bring a stringed instrument and join in the Fiddler’s Jam at CREATE Café or just sit a spell and watch. Call (814) 271-7726 for more information.

Pack up your pipes and get your karaoke on every Wednesday from 8-11 p.m. at Ray’s Hot Spot.

On the 3rd Thursday of every month Tom Frech of Dos Hombres will be hosting Medix Hotel’s Got Talent open mic night so get out there, enjoy yourself on the deck with a cold cocktail and let your “soul sing” on.

Be your own rock star or just have fun listening with Master Blaster DJ Karaoke on October 14th from 7-10 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.
