I bet you’re getting antsy, wanting to get out and do something with winter coming to an end once again. Why not get out and give one of the wonderful local bands in the PA Great Outdoors region a listen? Here’s what’s springing up for you in March.

Come out and listen to Nick Forsyth covering some Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty and much, much more on March 3rd  from 7-10 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery.

Featuring favorite Stephen Sondheim numbers from Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, A Funny Thing Happened on The Way To The Forum, Anyone Can Whistle, and Pacific Overtures, plus his collaborations with giants Leonard Bernstein, Jule Styne and Richard Rodgers, Side by Side by Sondheim will be at Lincoln Hall on March 3rd at 7:30 p.m.

Bob Shawgo plays electrifying rock with a unique show of great music and comedic interaction on March 3rd and 31st from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.

Carolyn Longo will be playing pop rock, blues, smooth jazz, standards and celtic folk tunes on March 4th from 2-5 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery.

Multi-platinum country duo, Montgomery Gentry has become one of the most identifiable duos in the history of country music! They are playing all their hits live on March 4th at 7 p.m. at St. Marys Area High School.

Singer-songwriter Coston Cross continuously uses all his life experiences and the influences of Garth Brooks, George Strait, George Jones and believe it or not Guns ‘n Roses to shape his own style of new country music. He is a must see on March 4th from 7-10 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery.

Samantha Sears will be playing her special blend of eclectic acoustic rock at Iron Mountain Grille on March 3rd and at Deer Creek Winery on March 5th from  2-5 p.m.

Chaz plays all your classic and dance rock favorites. They have been playing together for a long time and have always been very good. They are at Ray’s Hot Spot on March 3rd starting at 9:45 p.m.

The Windy River Band plays all types of music from country, to oldies to classic rock that you can dance to and have a blast! If you like to dance —- you’ll love this band. For over a decade they have played all over Western PA and want to play for you so don’t miss them at R** Bandana Winery on March 4th starting at 7:30-10:30 p.m.

Afraid of Human play classic rock, alternative rock and heavy metal. Catch them on March 4th starting at 9:30 p.m. at Ray’s Hot Spot starting at 9:45 p.m.

No matter what era you’re from, the rockin’ duo Wheels & Heels (Dick and Joanie from the band Trixx) will probably know one of your favorite songs. They are at the Iron Mountain Grille on March 10th and on   March 24th from 7-10 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery.

Bryan Phillips will be playing all your favorite country hits at Deer Creek Winery on March 10th and 31st  from 7-10 p.m. and at Iron Mountain Grille on March 17th.

Do you love indie and folk rock? Well that’s just what you’ll hear when you come to Deer Creek Winery to hear Sean Carey and the Transit Band on March 11th from 2-5 p.m.

732 Electric Duo featuring Mary Spayd and Glenn Armstrong perform cover and original rock & soul, adult contemporary, and classic hits. See them at Deer Creek Winery on March 11th from 7-10 p.m.  

If you’re looking for some hard, funked up rock you have to see Nick Sea at R** Bandana Winery on March 11th from 7:30-10:30 p.m.  

Mitch Littler plays his original blues tunes complete with harmonica and a soulful voice. You can see him live at rbg Restaurant & Lounge on March 11 from 8-11 p.m.

If you like today’s new country music, then you’ll love East Creek Road Band when they play at the Iron Mountain Grille on March 11th.

Spanning four decades, The Ozone Rangers are a classic rock, country, and ZZ Top tribute band. Relying on a groove of bluesy bass and drum rhythms sprinkled with some tasty Southern licks, the Ozone recipe has stood the test of time like a bottle of Jack Daniels on a woodshed shelf. You don’t want to miss them at Ray’s Hot Spot on March 11th starting at 9:45 p.m.

Visit Deer Creek Winery on March 12th from 2-5 p.m. to hear Basement Band.

The Clarion River Jam Bluegrass Festival will have continuous Bluegrass and Newgrass music by the top regional musicians. The public welcome and encouraged to attend.  Free admission with the opportunity to participate in raffles, vendors, drawings and Chinese auctions. It’s happening at the Park Inn by Radisson on March 17th from 6-11 p.m. and March 18th from 12-11 p.m.

Donations are accepted and will benefit the United Way of Clarion County.

Burning Daylight, an acoustic duo, will play your 90’s and present day country music favorites from 7-10 p.m. on March 17th from 7-10 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery.

White Cat Out is a premier classic rock and new rock cover band. Covering artist such as BTO, Huey, Ozzy, Counting Crows, The Clarks and tons more with plenty of cover material for all audiences plus added originals. They’re playing at R** Bandana Winery on March 17th from 7:30-10:30 p.m.

Robyn Young performs acoustic country, pop, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s rock and country. She is also a songwriter so you will hear some of her original work as well. She’s playing on March 18th from 2-5 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery and at  rbg Restaurant & Lounge on March 25th from 7-10 p.m.

Daniel Stockwell has a unique mix of folk, rock and indie music. He plays cover songs and has some really good original tunes as well. He’ll be at Deer Creek Winery on March 18th from 7-10 p.m.   

The newly formed band Arcade will give it up at R** Bandana Winery on March 18th from 7:30-10:30 p.m.  

JB Unplugged is a singer/songwriter performing for over 25 years, playing the music you love from today’s new pop and country, to old classics with a catalog of over 500 songs and all genres of music. He’s playing at Iron Mountain Grille on March 18th.

The Necessary Experience is a fun, funky rock and roll band playing top hits from The Beatles, Steve Miller, Marvin Gaye, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd and Motown. In essence they’re Funky People Playin’ Funky Tunes!!! They will play at Ray’s Hot Spot on March 18th starting at 9:45 p.m.

On March 19th hear sweet bands played for the fox trot or waltz, not for the jitterbugs or Charleston when Scotty Greene presents the Sweet Bands of the 1930’s at DeBence Antique Music World. Free admission.

If blues, jazz, country and Texas swing is your thing then Ricci Hardt is a must see at Deer Creek Winery on March 25th from 2-5 p.m.

Playing all of your country acoustic favorites Til’ Morning will be at R** Bandana Winery on March 24th from 7:30-10:30 p.m.

Gary Bickerstaff brings you all your classic rock acoustic top favorite hits on March 25th from 7-10 p.m.at Deer Creek Winery and on March 31st at Iron Mountain Grille.

If you like bluesy rock and just plain fun, then you must come see the Renegade Roosters on March 25th from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.

Two For Flinching combines some of the most talented musicians in the area with an entertaining stage performance and a spectacular sound and lighting show. The quartet switches effortlessly between smooth funk, hard rock and groovin’ dance rhythms, while providing sweet vocal harmonies, dazzling technical musicianship and a dose of humor. They’re playing at Ray’s Hot Spot on March 25th starting at 9:45 p.m.

Uncharted Course will play some sweet, slow old time classic rock favorites for you at Deer Creek Winery on March 26th from 2-5 p.m.

Trixx band plays all your favorite classic rock hits from the 70’s and 80’s including Journey, Styx, Bryan Adams and so much more. These guys have been together for a long time and it shows. They are playing at Ray’s Hot Spot on March 31st starting at 9:45 p.m.  

The region also has some terrific monthly meet ups to showcase your talent as well.

The Forest County Country Music Association has a bluegrass and country music jam session to set your toes a tappin’ and your fingers snappin’. You are even welcome to join in if you like. It happens the 2nd Friday each month at the MACA building on Pine Street in Marienville and the 3rd Friday each month at the Forest Folk School in Tionesta.

If you love American Folk Music; singing, playing guitar, banjo, ukulele, dulcimer or mandolin meet at CREATE Café on the first Thursday of each month where you’ll play the music of Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Peter Paul & Mary, The Kingston Trio and many, many more of your favorite classic folk tunes from the 1930’s through the 1970’s. Blackbird Distillery has a different artist every Saturday at Shine On Saturdays.

Pack up your pipes and get your karaoke on every Wednesday from 8-11 p.m. at Ray’s Hot Spot.

On the 3rd Thursday of every month Tom Frech of Dos Hombres will be hosting Medix Hotel’s Got Talent open mic night so get out there, enjoy yourself on the deck with a cold cocktail and let your “soul sing” on.

Get out to rbg Restaurant & Lounge and hear some great tunes with DJ w/Mara on March 4th from 7-10 p.m.

Be your own rock star or just have fun listening with Master Blaster DJ Karaoke on March 10th from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.

Crazy Jim will be playing all your DJ favorites along with karaoke for the brave at heart at  Ray’s Hot Spot on March 10th starting at 9:45 p.m.

On March 17th starting at 9:45 p.m. Take Two Productions will be playing all your DJ favorites along with karaoke so pack up your pipes and join us at Ray’s Hot Spot.

DJ RPM will be spinning the discs complete with karaoke at Ray’s Hot Spot on March 24th starting at 9:45 p.m.

Karaoke is back at the Iron Mountain Grille on March 25th. Bring your friends and your voices and have fun with us.   

All musicians, poets, comedians, storytellers, and listeners are invited to Open Mic Night at Create Café on the last Thursday of each month. March’s date is March 30th.
