Summer’s here and the time is right for dancin’ in the PA Great Outdoors. Here’s all the terrific bands playing in our region in June.
Cluricaun is a folk group playing Irish and Scottish folk music (along with an occasional English folk song). They play Celtic music featuring songs such as Harvest Home, Star of the County, Red Haired Boy, Bonnie Ship the Diamond and much more. They’re playing on June 1st – 3rd at 8 p.m. at the Cook Forest Sawmill Center for the Arts.
Coyote Moon duo appeals to any audience with their varied song list and rich sound with sweet harmonies. Together they offer up a blend of folk, folk rock, classic rock, and some early country playing favorites from the Beatles, to Adele to Johnny Cash and a lot of Neil Young. They’re playing at the Louisiana Style Crab Boil at Winery at Wilcox on June 2nd at 4 p.m.
Gary Bickerstaff brings you all your classic rock acoustic top favorite hits and modern rock with some modern country. He’ll dish it all up for you on June 2nd at 6:30 p.m. at Iron Mountain Grille, on June 11th from 3-6 p.m. and June 13th from 5-8 p.m. at Trails End Restaurant and from 7:30-10:30 p.m. on June 30th at rbg Clarion.
Bill DeLong & Friends will be playing all your classic country favorites at the Foundry on June 2nd. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
“Emlenton’s American Idol” Isaac Cole made it to the 51st spot on American Idol. He is an awesome country singer with original works as well as playing yesterday and today’s country music. He has a record deal in the works and he’s ONLY 16 years old. He will perform on June 2nd from 7-10 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery.
Kurt Thomas is a fabulous one man band who plays electric and acoustic guitar and sings, using a backing of tracks that he’s created to achieve a full band sound. Styles of music he plays are vast from the great pop songs of the 60’s and into the 80’s, songs that people love, that bring back memories of their past, but that we aren’t used to hearing people play like Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind & Fire, Crosby Stills & Nash, The Beatles, Chicago, and hundreds more. Great guitar work, including the blues of Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King and other masters. He’s playing on June 2nd at The Lakeview Lodge, on June 10th & June 23rd from 7-10 p.m. at Scottish Heights Golf Course, at the White Trash Party at the Medix Hotel on June 11th in the afternoon, at the Huddy for Hahne cancer fundraiser at The Lakeview Lodge by himself from 4-6 p.m. and then from 7-10 p.m. as part of the Rum Dums, a four piece band covering all the best classic rock. He’s also playing solo on June 24th from 2-5 p.m. at Foxburg Wine Cellars.
The Windy River Band plays all types of music from country, to oldies to classic rock that you can dance to and have a blast! If you like to dance —- you’ll love this band. For over a decade they have played all over Western PA and want to play for you so don’t miss them at R** Bandana Winery on June 2nd and 16th from 7:30-10:30 p.m.
No matter what era you’re from, the rockin’ duo Wheels & Heels (Dick and Joanie from the band Trixx) will probably know one of your favorite songs. They are at Deer Creek Winery on June 3rd & 18th from 2-5 p.m. and at the Iron Mountain Grille on June 9th at 5:30 p.m.
If you like folky rock you are going to like James Willaman. He’s playing at Foxburg Wine Cellars on June 3rd from 2-5 p.m.
Guitar Club is a three-piece band that plays all the feel good classic rock, folk and country we’ve all come to know and love. From Van Morrison to the Mama’s and the Papa’s to Grateful Dead and even some newer artists like Darius Rucker. They’re playing at the Louisiana Style Crab Boil at Winery at Wilcox on June 3rd starting at 4 p.m.
Megan McGarry plays the banjo, fiddle and sings country, bluegrass and folk favorites and her original songs as well. She will be at Benezette Wines on June 3rd from 4-7 p.m.
The Doo Wop Shoppe pays tribute to the lead singers and groups of the past who brought us
a lifetime of golden memories on June 3rd at Brady’s Bend American Legion’s Doo Wop Dinner.
Robyn Young performs hits from Miranda, Patsy, and Cash to Skynyrd, Creed and Staind; Pop, blues, country and rock with a unique twist. She is also a songwriter, so you will hear some of her originals as well. Robyn pours her heart out in every song while playing guitar and harmonica. You will surely hear one of your favorite tunes. She’s playing on June 3rd from 7-10 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery, on June 4th from 3-6 p.m. at Trails End Restaurant, on June 10th from 4-7 p.m. at Benezette Wines, and on June 17th from 8-11 p.m. at rbg Clarion.
The 2 of Us are an acoustic rock duo who will be laying it down at Sunset at the Winery at Laurel Mountain Vineyard on June 3rd at 7 p.m.
CareyOn is a three-piece band that plays a little something for everyone including top 40, country, R&B, jazz, oldies, rock, metal, dance and rave music. They’re playing on June 3rd from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.
South Side String Kings are a lively entertaining blue grass band and will also play a bit of jazz, too on June 3rd at 7:30 p.m. at Iron Mountain Grille.
Sofa King Cool Band plays classic rock so well you can almost feel your hair growing! Awesome and absolutely amazing. Classic rock, blues rock, southern rock, dance rock, if it’s rock then they play it, and they’re playing it at Ray’s Hot Spot on June 3rd at 9:30 p.m.
Dos Hombres will be playing all your favorite rock, southern rock and country acoustic tunes on June 4th in the afternoon at Medix Hotel.
D. Eicher is a singer songwriter whose new album (The Middle Distance) came out last summer. Infused with rock, pop and indie influences you don’t want to miss his performance at Foxburg Wine Cellars on June 4th from 2-5 p.m.

JB Unplugged is a singer/songwriter performing for over 25 years, playing the music you love from today’s new pop and country, to old classics with a catalog of over 500 songs and all genres of music. He’s playing on June 6th from 5-8 p.m. and June 18th from 3-6 p.m. at Trails End Restaurant and on June 9 at 7 p.m. at Straub Brewery’s Red, White, and Brew Party.
Is blues, jazz, country and Texas swing your thing? Then Ricci Hardt is a must see at Allegheny Grille on June 6th from 6-9 p.m.
Brandon Giuffre will be playing some newer rock and alternative music on June 9th at The Lakeview Lodge, and on June 10th from 12-1:50 p.m. at the PA Wilds Arts Fest followed by The Salty Dogz from 2:10-4 p.m.
Darla of the Route 8 Band is going solo with a new spin on some rock favorites on June 10th from 1:30-4 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.

Romey & Friends will play all of your classic country favorites at Taylor Memorial Park on June 11th from 6-7:30 p.m.
The Ryver Nymphs are an acoustic duo that play country and folk favorites. They will be dishing them up at Allegheny Grille on June 13th from 6-9 p.m.
There will be a musical jam at Art in the Park on June 17th from 1-5 p.m.
Richard Eustice is ½ of the duo Acoustic Highway. He plays acoustic rock n roll favorites. He will be at Foxburg Wine Cellars on June 17th from 2-5 p.m. and at the Allegheny Grille on June 20th from 6-9 p.m.
Bob Shawgo plays electrifying rock with a unique show of great music and comedic interaction on June 17th from 2-5 p.m. and June 30th from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.
Samantha Sears will be playing her special blend of eclectic acoustic rock on June 17th at 7 p.m. at Iron Mountain Grille.
Burning Daylight, an acoustic duo, will play your 90’s and present day country music favorites from 7-10 p.m. on June 17th at Deer Creek Winery.
Playing all of your country acoustic favorites Til’ Morning will be at R** Bandana Winery on June 17th from 7:30-10:30 p.m.
Judi Figel is a Cabaret singer who will take you on a ride from blues and jazz standards to musical theater and rock in Lincoln Hall on June 17th at 7:30 p.m.
Two For Flinching combines some of the most talented musicians in the area with an entertaining stage performance and a spectacular sound and lighting show. The quartet switches effortlessly between smooth funk, hard rock and groovin’ dance rhythms, while providing sweet vocal harmonies, dazzling technical musicianship and a dose of humor. You don’t want to miss them at Ray’s Hot Spot on June 17th starting at 9:30 p.m.
Paul Shimmel is an acoustic artist playing country, southern fried rock and his original works. Catch him at the Jeep Cruise In at the Medix Hotel on June 18th in the afternoon.
Don Schiebel does some fantastic work on his beautiful 12-string Guild with a voice and a selection of music that will stir so many old memories. Catch his show at Foxburg Wine Cellars on June 18th from 2-5 p.m.
Singer-songwriter Coston Cross continuously uses all his life experiences and the influences of Garth Brooks, George Strait, George Jones and believe it or not Guns ‘n Roses to shape his own style of new country music. He is a must see at Trail’s End Restaurant on June 20th from 5-8 p.m.
If you need jazz, standards and swing tunes in your life then Jazz Lite is the band that you need to see on June 23rd starting at 5 p.m. at the Iron Mountain Grille.
FM is an acoustic pop/country duet featuring Melissa Smith on vocals and percussion & William (Fitty) Smith on guitar and vocals. They’re playing on June 23rd at The Lakeview Lodge.
New to R** Bandana Winery the band Stage Door will be playing on June 23rd from 7:30-10:30 p.m.
If you like bluesy rock and just plain fun, then you have to come see the Renegade Roosters on June 24th from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.
If you like country and classic rock music head over to Sunset at the Winery on June 24th at 7 p.m. to hear Second Street.
Leatherwood Band play anything from Alabama to ZZ Top! Their music will bring back memories from times gone past and you will leave their concert with a smile on your face. They’re playing on June 24th at the Firemans Festival Day.
Bad Hat Daddy O’s are a classic rock duo playing all of your favorites from the Eagles to Rod Stewart to Tom Petty and more. They’re playing on June 24th at 7:30 p.m. at Iron Mountain Grille, on June 25th from 3-6 p.m. and June 27th from 5-8 p.m. at Trails End Restaurant.
Max Schang Blues Band does a collection of well-known blues tunes performed with a sense of fun and an original approach…and as always a crowd-stompin’ good time so get your stomp on at Foxburg Wine Cellars on June 25th from 2-5 p.m.
The Ride plays a wide variety of music from new rock and country to the best in 70’s and 80’s classic rock. They’re playing at 8 p.m. on June 24th at Smoke on the Mountain BBQ Cook Off Competition.
Crossfire is a four-piece classic rock band covering Peter Frampton, Ac/Dc, ZZ Top, Deep Purple, Atlanta Rythym Section, Joe Walsh, SRV, and more. They’re playing in Taylor Memorial Park on June 25th from 6-7:30 p.m.
Hannah Williamson & Shick is new to the Allegheny Grille. Come see them on June 27th from 6-9 p.m. and let me know what you think of them.
Hot Foot Harry is a spontaneous mixture of rock, blues, and R&B that will keep you on the edge of your seat and all over the dance floor. They’re playing on June 30th from 6-8 p.m. at DuBois Harley Davidson’s Bike Night & Car Cruise-In.
The Necessary Experience is a fun, funky rock and roll band playing top hits from The Beatles, Steve Miller, Marvin Gaye, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd and Motown. In essence they’re Funky People Playin’ Funky Tunes!!! They will play at Ray’s Hot Spot on June 30th at 9:30 p.m.
The region also has some terrific monthly meet ups to showcase your talent as well.
The Forest County Country Music Association has a bluegrass and country music jam session to set your toes a tappin’ and your fingers snappin’. You are even welcome to join in if you like. It happens the 2nd Friday each month at the MACA building on Pine Street in Marienville and the 3rd Friday each month at the Forest Folk School in Tionesta.
If you love American folk music; singing, playing guitar, banjo, ukulele, dulcimer or mandolin meet at CREATE Café on the first Thursday of each month where you’ll play the music of Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Peter Paul & Mary, The Kingston Trio and many, many more of your favorite classic folk tunes from the 1930’s through the 1970’s.
