The holly, jolly holidays are upon us this month. The Great Outdoors region has live music for those who wanna rock around the Christmas tree, experience a Medieval dinner, listen to some childhood orchestra favorites and so much more. Here’s your December music line up.

On December 1st at 7 p.m. Chris Meholic will perform Sounds of a Celtic Christmas at the Lakeview Lodge.

The Brookville Jr/Sr High School students will be having a holiday concert in the high school auditorium on December 1st at 7 p.m.

There will be live chamber singers and a strolling brass ensemble on Main Street, Brookville on December 2nd starting at 5:45 p.m. during the Victorian Christmas Celebration.

Singers, adorned in period costumes, entertain with madrigal songs and traditional holiday carols while you enjoy a medieval feast at the Madrigal Dinner on December 2nd and 3rd at 7 p.m. in Lincoln Hall.

Gary Bickerstaff brings you all your classic rock acoustic top favorite hits on December 3rd from 2-5 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery.

If you’re looking for a band that plays all the classics that you haven’t heard in a while, then get out to Deer Creek Winery on December 2nd from 7-10 p.m. or their New Year’s Eve party from 1-4 p.m. and give the two-piece acoustic act The SpeakEasys a listen. They also have dozens of original songs to please your ears.

The newly formed band Arcade will give it up at R** Bandana Winery on December 2nd from 7:30-10:30 p.m. and New Year’s Eve from 6-9 p.m.

Against the Grain is a western PA rock band playing everything from classic rock to alternative to today’s hits including interesting versions of fan-favorite songs that span hard rock classics from AC/DC and Led Zeppelin to Grunge-Alternative bands such as the Foo Fighters and Reliant K. They will be playing on December 2nd starting at 9:30 p.m. at Ray’s Hot Spot.                  

Pittsburgh’s premier hand bell ensemble will be on display in four delightful selections from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, Joel Raney’s exotic We Three Kings, and timeless favorites like O Christmas Tree, Stille Nacht and more. Three Rivers Ringers take the magical sound of hand bells to new heights on December 3rd at 7 p.m. at Emlenton United Methodist Church.

Bryan Phillips will be playing all your favorite classic country and rock favorites on December 3rd, 9th, and 23rd from 7-10 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery and on December 10th at Iron Mountain Grille.

Rumble Seat Winos play electrifying rock with a unique show of great music and comedic interaction on December 3rd and December 23rd from 7:30-10:30 p.m. and New Year’s Eve from 10 p.m.- 1 a.m. at R** Bandana Winery.

Robyn Young performs acoustic country, pop, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s rock and country. She is also a songwriter so you will hear some of her original work as well. She’s playing on December 3rd at Iron Mountain Grille.

Spanning four decades, The Ozone Rangers are a classic rock, country, and ZZ Top tribute band. Relying on a groove of bluesy bass and drum rhythms sprinkled with some tasty Southern licks, the Ozone recipe has stood the test of time like a bottle of Jack Daniels on a woodshed shelf. You don’t want to miss them at Ray’s Hot Spot on December 3rd starting at 9:30 p.m. Plus you’ll get a sampling of Not Your Father’s Root Beer.

Samantha Sears will be playing her special blend of eclectic acoustic rock at Deer Creek Winery on December 4th from 2-5 p.m.

Rick Sabousky (of Rick & Jen and Route 8 Band) will dish up all your top 40 favorites on December 9th from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.

No matter what era you’re from, the rockin’ duo Wheels & Heels (Dick and Joanie from the band Trixx) will probably know one of your favorite songs. They are at Iron Mountain Grille on December 9th.

Two For Flinching combines some of the most talented musicians in the area with an entertaining stage performance and a spectacular sound and lighting show. The quartet switches effortlessly between smooth funk, hard rock and groovin’ dance rhythms, while providing sweet vocal harmonies, dazzling technical musicianship and a dose of humor. You don’t want to miss them on December 9th starting at 9:30 p.m. at Ray’s Hot Spot.

If blues, jazz, country and Texas swing is your thing then Ricci Hardt is a must see at Deer Creek Winery on December 10th from 2-5 p.m. followed by Mike Ames playing country tunes from 7-10 p.m.

Burning Daylight, an acoustic duo, will play your 90’s and present day country music favorites at R** Bandana Winery on December 10th from 7:30-10:30 p.m.

Old Skool will be jammin’ country rock at it’s finest at the Sinnemahoning Tavern on December 10th from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. Don’t miss this great local band!!

Sofa King Cool Band plays classic rock so well you can almost feel your hair growing! Awesome and absolutely amazing. Classic rock, blues rock, southern rock, dance rock, if it’s rock then they play it, and they’re playing it at Ray’s Hot Spot on December 10th starting at 9:30 p.m.

The Clarion Dulcimer Club will be presenting a free program of Christmas Music with both hammer and mountain dulcimers, an autoharp, guitar and spoons on December 11th at 2 p.m. at DeBence Antique Music World.

Uncharted Course will play some sweet, slow old time classic rock favorites for you at Deer Creek Winery on December 11th from 2-5 p.m.

The Sawyer Stepp Trio is a quality, easy listening, full sounding trio band that performs a nice variety of songs from the 70’s, 60’s, 50’s, 40’s, 30’s and even back to the roaring 20’s! They will play at  Deer Creek Winery on December 16th from 7-10 p.m.

If you need Jazz, standards and swing tunes in your life then Jazz Lite is the band that you need to see on December 16th at the Iron Mountain Grille.

Trixx band plays all of your favorite classic rock hits from the 70’s and 80’s including Journey, Styx, Bryan Adams and so much more. These guys have been together for a long time and it shows. They are playing at Ray’s Hot Spot on December 16th starting at 9:30 p.m.

Playing all of your country acoustic favorites Til’ Morning will be at R** Bandana Winery on December 17th from 7:30-10:30 p.m.

If you love a heartland blend of country, folk and rock and roll you’ll want to get out to the Iron Mountain Grille on December 17th and give Joe Thompson a listen.

How about some blues, funk, and classic rock? That’s just what you’ll get when you come to Ray’s Hot Spot to hear Smokin Section do their magic on December 17th starting at 9:30 p.m.

Daniel Stockwell has a unique mix of folk, rock and indie music. He plays cover songs and has some really good original tunes as well. He’ll be at Deer Creek Winery on December 18th from 2-5 p.m.

You will be uplifted and touched by the elegant arrangements of Christmas favorites from the Pittsburgh Symphony Brass as they take you on a holiday musical journey in styles ranging from the traditional to Spike Jones on December 18th starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Memorial Church of our Father in Foxburg.

Cory Monaco will be performing his unique selections from a wide range of music from AC/DC, Tom Petty, CCR, Guns N Roses, Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Steppenwolf, Allman Brothers Band, David Allen Coe, The Who, Foster the People, Snoop Dogg, Adam Sandler, and Jimi Hendrix on December 24th starting at 9:30 p.m. at Ray’s Hot Spot.

On December 30th from 7:30-10:30 p.m. head out to R** Bandana Winery to hear the band Mixed Emotions who are new to the winery.              

Gary Bickerstaff brings you all your acoustic top favorite hits at Iron Mountain Grille on December 30th.

The Necessary Experience is a fun, funky rock and roll band playing top hits from The Beatles, Steve Miller, Marvin Gaye, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd and Motown. In essence they’re Funky People Playin’ Funky Tunes!!! They will play at Ray’s Hot Spot on December 30th starting at 9:30 p.m.

Rising young country star, singer-songwriter and American Idol finalist Issac Cole will be playing at Deer Creek Winery’s New Year’s Eve party from 6-8 p.m. followed by Morgan Pritchard & Chris Bloch playing soft classic rock from the 60‘s,70’s, and 80’s from 9 p.m.-midnight.

The KGB is an all-original rock band. With 30+ originals in rotation, the songs range from hard rockers to melodic tunes with a healthy dose of classic two guitar rock and roll filling out the night. KGB will bang your head and shake your behind. See them live on New Year’s Eve at Ray’s Hot Spot starting at 9:30 p.m.

The region also has some terrific monthly meet ups to showcase your talent as well.

The Forest County Country Music Association has a bluegrass and country music jam session to set your toes a tappin’ and your fingers snappin’. You are even welcome to join in if you like. It happens the 2nd Friday each month at the MACA building on Pine Street in Marienville and the 3rd Friday each month at the Forest Folk School in Tionesta.

If you love American Folk Music; singing, playing guitar, banjo, ukulele, dulcimer or mandolin meet at CREATE Café on the first Thursday of each month where you’ll play the music of Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Peter Paul & Mary, The Kingston Trio and many, many more of your favorite classic folk tunes from the 1930’s through the 1970’s. On the third Thursday of each month bring a stringed instrument and join in the Fiddler’s Jam at CREATE Café or just sit a spell and watch. Call (814) 271-7726 for more information.

Pack up your pipes and get your karaoke on every Wednesday from 8-11 p.m. at Ray’s Hot Spot.

On the 3rd Thursday of every month Tom Frech of Dos Hombres will be hosting Medix Hotel’s Got Talent open mic night so get out there, enjoy yourself on the deck with a cold cocktail and let your “soul sing” on.

Be your own rock star or just have fun listening with Master Blaster DJ Karaoke on December 16th from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.

DJ RPM will be dishing up the tunes for Ray’s Hot Spot’s Christmas Party on December 23rd starting at 9:30 p.m.
