April in the Great Outdoors region will be showering you with some of the best local, live music you can find anywhere! Get out there and give one or more a listen. Here’s the lineup.
Come out to Deer Creek Winery on April 1st and you will hear new country music with a smooth voice and wonderful acoustic guitar playing by Mike Ames from 2-5 p.m.
Jason Nuzzo will be playing a Bob Dylan tribute on April 1st from 7-10 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery.
High energy classic rock band the Rockaholics are a group of veteran musicians that can really deliver a great show and they are delivering it at R** Bandana Winery on April 1st from 7:30-10:30 p.m.
2B40 is a band of 40-somethings playing a combination of original songs and some of their favorite cover tunes. They’re playing at Deer Creek Winery on April 2nd from 2-5 p.m.
Gary Bickerstaff brings you all your classic rock acoustic top favorite hits! He’s opening for comedy night at rbg Restaurant & Lounge on April 1st and playing at Iron Mountain Grille on April 7th or catch him at Deer Creek Winery on April 29th from 7-10 p.m.
The KGB is an all-original rock band. With 30+ originals in rotation, the songs range from hard rockers to melodic tunes with a healthy dose of classic two guitar rock and roll filling out the night. KGB will bang your head and shake your behind. See them live on April 1st at Ray’s Hot Spot starting at 9:30 p.m.
The Grove City College Touring Choir will present a concert of choral works to usher in the holy season, including sacred works, songs of praise and African American spirituals at Lincoln Hall on April 2nd at 2 p.m.
Ray’s Final Cut plays a variety of musical genres including rock, country, polka, swing and jazz and spans songs from the 1950’s all the way up to today’s favorites. They’re playing on April 7th at The Foundry. Doors open at 6 p.m.
“Emlenton’s American Idol” Isaac Cole made it to the 51st spot on American Idol. He is an awesome country singer with original works as well as playing yesterday and today’s country music. He has a record deal in the works and he’s ONLY 16 years old. He will perform on April 7th from 7-10 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery.
Daniel Stockwell has a unique mix of folk, rock and indie music. He plays cover songs and has some really good original tunes as well. He’ll be at Deer Creek Winery on April 8th from 2-5 p.m.
Is blues, jazz, country and Texas swing your thing? Then Ricci Hardt is a must see on April 8th from 7-10 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery.
Playing all of your country acoustic favorites Til’ Morning will be at R** Bandana Winery on April 8th from 7:30-10:30 p.m.
Do you love indie and folk rock? Well that’s just what you’ll hear when you come to Iron Mountain Grille to hear Sean Carey and the Transit Band on April 8th or at Deer Creek Winery on April 16th from 2-5 p.m.
Trainwreck is a group of seasoned musicians playing modern country and some classic rock at Ray’s Hot Spot on April 8th starting at 9:30 p.m.
Andy Timko pours his heart and soul into every performance providing audiences with an authentic and unique live experience at every show. He performs his original country songs and some covers as well at Deer Creek Winery on April 9th from 2-5 p.m.
Rick Sabousky is part of the Route 8 Band and gives you a new spin on some classic rock favorites. He’s playing on April 14th from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.
Soundbite covers material that doesn’t always necessarily get played by the majority of bands out there. Check them out at Ray’s Hot Spot on April 14th starting at 9:30 p.m. and hear some of the classic rock tunes that you haven’t heard in a long time.
Bob Shawgo plays electrifying rock with a unique show of great music and comedic interaction. He’s playing on April 15th from 2-5 p.m. and 7:30-10:30 p.m. and April 28th from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.
On the Spectrum is an acoustic duo who plays a variety of classic rock, pop and even some country tunes with Rachael Mellor on vocals and Gary Bickerstaff on guitar and vocals. They are playing on April 15th from 7-10 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery.
Bryan Phillips will be playing all your favorite classic country and rock favorites on April 14th & 28th from 7-10 p.m. and April 22nd from 2-5 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery or on April 15th at Iron Mountain Grille.
No matter what era you’re from, the rockin’ duo Wheels & Heels (Dick and Joanie from the band Trixx) will probably know one of your favorite songs. They are at Deer Creek Winery on April 15th from 2-5 p.m. and at the Iron Mountain Grille on April 21st.
Dog Day Sunrise plays originals, southern alternative rock and heavy metal music. They’re playing at Ray’s Hot Spot on April 15th starting at 9:30 p.m.
Burning Daylight, an acoustic duo, will play your 90’s and present day country music favorites on April 21st from 7-10 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery and from 7:30-10:30 p.m. on April 29th at R** Bandana Winery.
Robyn Young performs acoustic country, pop, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s rock and country. She is also a songwriter so you will hear some of her original work as well. She’s playing April 21st at R** Bandana Winery from 7:30-10:30 p.m. and on April 30th from 2-5 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery.
Chaz plays all of your classic and dance rock favorites. They have been playing together for a long time and have always been very good. They are at Ray’s Hot Spot on April 21st starting at 9:30 p.m.
JB Unplugged is a singer/songwriter performing for over 25 years, playing the music you love from today’s new pop and country, to old classics with a catalog of over 500 songs and all genres of music. He’s playing at the Craft & Home Brew Festival at Edgewood Banquet Hall in St. Marys on April 22nd from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Put on your dancing shoes and dress in your vintage swing garb as Pittsburgh’s rockin’ rhythm & jazz trio, The Red Beans & Rice Combo, serve up a delightful musical gumbo. They play a very cool mix of classic New Orleans R&B, 50’s rock ala Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry, Mose Allison, Tom Waits, Slim Galliard and Louis Jordan – super fun tunes. They are at Lincoln Hall on April 22nd at 7:30 p.m. Adult beverages available by donation.
Uncharted Course will play some sweet, slow old time classic rock favorites for you at Deer Creek Winery on April 22nd from 7-10 p.m.
The newly formed band Arcade will give it up at R** Bandana Winery on April 22nd from 7:30-10:30 p.m.
Trixx band plays all your favorite classic rock hits from the 70’s and 80’s including Journey, Styx, Bryan Adams and so much more. These guys have been together for a long time and it shows. They are playing at Iron Mountain Grille on April 22nd.
We Speak Canadian will be playing all your favorite dance hits from yesterday and today with a hard rock twist at Ray’s Hot Spot on April 22nd starting at 9:30 p.m.
The Venango Brigade will play a program of American Civil War and Irish/Rustic music. This is a free concert at DeBence Antique Music World on April 23rd at 1:30 p.m.
Samantha Sears will be playing her special blend of eclectic acoustic rock at Deer Creek Winery on April 23rd from 2-5 p.m.
If you need Jazz, standards and swing tunes in your life then Jazz Lite is the band that you need to see on April 28th at the Iron Mountain Grille.
Smokin’ Section brings you danceable hits from the 60’s on with horn-heavy, soulful goodtime party music and rhythm and blues that will knock your socks off! Hear them on April 28th and 29th at Ray’s Hot Spot starting at 9:30 p.m.
Come out and listen to Nick Forsyth covering some Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty and much, much more on April 29th from 2-5 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery.
Bad Hat Daddy O’s are a classic rock duo playing all your favorites from the Eagles to Rod Stewart to Tom Petty and more on April 29th at Iron Mountain Grille.
The region also has some terrific monthly meet ups to showcase your talent as well.
The Forest County Country Music Association has a bluegrass and country music jam session to set your toes a tappin’ and your fingers snappin’. You are even welcome to join in if you like. It happens the 2nd Friday each month at the MACA building on Pine Street in Marienville and the 3rd Friday each month at the Forest Folk School in Tionesta.
If you love American Folk Music; singing, playing guitar, banjo, ukulele, dulcimer or mandolin meet at CREATE Café on the first Thursday of each month where you’ll play the music of Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Peter Paul & Mary, The Kingston Trio and many, many more of your favorite classic folk tunes from the 1930’s through the 1970’s.

On the 3rd Thursday of every month Tom Frech of Dos Hombres will be hosting Medix Hotel’s Got Talent open mic night so get out there, enjoy yourself on the deck with a cold cocktail and let your “soul sing” on.
Be your own rock star or just have fun listening with Master Blaster DJ Karaoke on April 7th from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.
On April 7th starting at 9:45 p.m. Take Two Productions will be playing all your DJ favorites along with karaoke so pack up your pipes and join us at Ray’s Hot Spot.
All musicians, poets, comedians, storytellers, and listeners are invited to Open Mic Night at Create Café on the last Thursday of each month. April’s date is April 27th.
