Benezette
The heart of Pennsylvania’s free roaming elk herd, the village of Benezette sits along the Elk Scenic Drive, A 127 mile excursion through some of Central Pennsylvania’s most rugged and beautiful country.
Come face to face with a 700 pound bull elk that are routinely seen along side the roadways or can be seen at one of the designated elk viewing areas in the community.
Spend the day elk viewing, shopping at one of the many local shops and then return to the quiet country comfort of a cabin or B & B. Bring your camera, and be ready to relax!

Thunder Mountain Equestrian Trail

Benezette, PA 1582126-mile trail that loops through the 200,000-acre Elk State Forest located near the town of Benezette, PA. The Thunder Mountain Trail is easy to follow with clear markings. Trailhead is off of Hicks Run Road (near Route 555). Camping is permitted along the trail system. Camping permits can be obtained by calling 814-486-3353.
