Lumber barons built their mansions in Ridgway, where the chips fly at the Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous in February. Visit St. Marys, home of the first Benedictine convent in the nation, where you can tour St. Joseph Monastery and join the nuns in prayer in the chapel. In the Johnsonburg/Wilcox area, sample fine Pennsylvania wines at an award-winning winery. Boat and fish East Branch Lake and take a family canoe outing on the “wild and scenic” Clarion River. Be sure to visit the largest herd of wild Elk east of the Rockies near Benezette, and don’t miss all the great events taking place all year round!
